The Textured Object vases were created during the Textured Object Design Club, under the guidance of ceramic artist Rinke Joosten. Participants (young people aged 15–20) created their own ceramic molds, which glassblower Selma Hamstra then used to blow glass. The vases were exhibited during the first edition of the Design Biennale Rotterdam.
The vases were made by Design Club participants Charlize Oranje, Foudia Camara, Fay Kleimeer, Keandra Agard and Lua Koolhaas.
Objects created in the Design Club are unique and handmade. Participants receive a 20% royalty on their designs. The remaining proceeds flow back into the project, allowing us to organize a new Design Club every month.
