A Dictionary of Color Combinations Vol.2 – Sanzo Wada
Between 1933 and 1934, Sanzo Wada, 和田三造, published a collection of color combinations, the first of its kind in Japan. In 2010, this classic work was republished as A Dictionary of Color Combinations and was hailed as an inspiration, full of “hues we didn’t even know existed.” Now , A Dictionary of Color Combinations Volume 2 is available, with two additional works by Wada, originally published in 1935–1936 and 1938.
This second volume contains 72 color patterns based on the Japanese seasons and another 165 combinations from fashion, interior design, and graphic design from the early to mid-twentieth century. An indispensable work for designers, fashion and interior specialists, illustrators, photographers, writers—and anyone who works creatively.
